The universe has space, time, gravity, 24 fundamental quantum fields, dark matter, dark energy, and the interactions and connections between all of them. The fundamental quantum fields are: 12 for fermions (matter) and 12 for bosons (force carriers or "energy").
The universe consists of everything that's in it. It's a total package. In theoretical physics, "space-time" has been hypothesized as a fabric, if you will, that matter and energy exist within. At this point, though, "space-time" remains more in the category of science fiction than applied science.
