What non-expensive tool cuts through steel nails?

I need to cut a few steel nails in wood. I can't hammer them out. What tool do I need to cut through them?

Have you tried a cats paw to pull them? A good one. Next a jig saw with metal blade & plyers. Buy a good jig saw. Then you have it for future jobs. The cheap ones burn up.

    Lineman's Pliers should work.

I am trying to envision the situation you are in. CAN'T.

I would either pull the nails or hammer them through.

Hack saw with an EXPENSIVE BLADE does more than 1 nail. Learned that as that was the first SAW I ever had....so like 8 years old.

Sawz-All with metal cutting blade. You can also get a cheap handle that uses the Sawz-All blades [but it's a lot more work]

A hack saw should fit the bill.

What is your definition of non expensive? Because if you want to spend the least amount of money to cut a screw you could just get a metal file or perhaps even a butter knife and start scraping away. I would suggest a hack saw or an angle grinder as they are quick and easy.
