one-fourth the charge on A. How far apart would the two spheres then have to be for A to have the same deflection it had before?

    We know the force is 1/4 what it was so the denominator SQUARED will be 1/4 what it was for the same deflection. That means d2 = d1/2 since d2² = d1²/4 so the first answer is correct.
