We’ve been going to AC & Vegas for the last 30 years. There is no comparison between the two. Vegas is HUGE, AC is pretty small, and gets smaller each year with less and less casino’s. Years ago it was great place to go, and it’s still fun, just not as exciting as years gone by.
The Borgotta is a beautiful hotel on the bay side, very glitzy. I’ve never stayed there, but my friends have. They liked it, but didn’t love it, younger crowd (20’s, 30’s), they like to dress up like they’re going to a wedding to go out to dinner, we don’t. It’s very Las Vegas like.
I prefer a casino on the boardwalk with easy access to the beach. But you might like it, if they offered you 5 free nights that sounds like a sweet deal, and you could always take a 10 minute cab ride to the beach or boardwalk (depending on traffic). If you’re going soon (in the warm weather), there are some shops and amusements (and panhandlers) on the boardwalk too. There’s also a lot of outlet stores there. Just be careful (whenever we drove in we saw signs that say “Gun Free School Zone” for the last probably 20 years - which always gave me pause) however, we’ve never had a problem, but we were always aware of our surroundings and didn’t take any chances.
