UK army: immediately after WW2, in the mid-1960s and from the Falklands War to the late 1980s
Secret Service: 1970s and 1980s
Altogether both army and secret service were at their best between 1980 to 1991 and worst during 1970 and 2000.
Since then the British army was at its best around 2010, but since the Cameron government was virtually cut down across the board.

the British secret service was being run by the Russians after the war and Britain was almost bankrupt so the equipment remained the same for years
A 'TD' from some cretin. No explanation or argument. Are you one of those who believe the theory that Kim Philby was in fact a 'triple agent' and that his defection was the ultimate 'cunning plan'?
