I would name my planet after Thea, the Mars sized object that crashed into earth. The planet would be small and wet. I will describe the odd but simple unicellular life there, which have three elements they are made up of.
1. Strings, they are microscopic particles that are wavy, undulating lines. This wavyness catches smaller particles and converts them to energy for the cells. They are also used for genetic material, each string containing a unique series of rises and falls that make then unique.
2. Gel, which is a stretchy, starchy material that is used for structure and joint lubrication. It is mainly the material used for the cell membrane. Gel is made when cells synthesize roughly 10,000 strings to make 1 cubic nanometer of gel.
3. Cogunite, a strong, rigid material that is as hard as rock and is made from compressing 1000 cubic nanometers of gel into 10 cubic nanometers. It is used as armor and protection for herbivorous cells, and sharp strong 'teeth' for carnivorous cells.
