The Bible says of some people, that they are like their father the devil who abode not in the truth. We can't be both children of the devil, and of God - and we can only be the children of God by being born again. This means that the first birth, our natural birth, profits us nothing towards salvation. We are not born into this world saved. If we were, Jesus died for nothing. The Bible is a holy book, because it is the book of the truth, containing the truth about God, and those who receive His words, are those who accept His Truth. Acceptance of Truth is important because God seeks those who will worship Him according to His Spirit and His Truth. If we don't receive the Spirit, then we don't belong to Him, we are none of His (Refer to Romans 8:9).
Political party affiliation has no bearing on salvation, as neither party has the capacity to make American great obviously. The Bible explains that people's hearts will wax colder as time goes on --- and no place can be made a better place, if people are spiritually deteriorating. The spiritual climate of our world will be very bad before Jesus returns. There will be plagues poured out upon the earth that the Bible speaks of during the end-times, but the Bible says that many will shake their fists up at heaven and curse God, rather than repent.
There are even people who wish to hide themselves from God, because they know He is coming. So at some point, I just think it will be obvious -- that what's going on in the world is aimed at the unrighteous for their evil. Certainly there are plenty of issues going on environmentally that is the fault of humanity. The whole earth is cursed because of humanity. But the solution is not be wicked towards the righteous. When Jesus returns, the earth is described as being filled with desolations (Isaiah 14:17, Daniel 9:27, Daniel 11:31, Daniel 12:11, Isaiah 61:4...) why he is called the abomination that brings desolation. The Bible even speaks about wormwood coming to earth, and the poisoning a portion of the oceans or seas (see Revelation 8:9).
Even though we should take care of our planet, because it provides the things which we need to sustain our existence -- the state of the earth will be quite bad before Jesus returns. And if He didn't return when He did, no flesh would be left alive (see Matthew 24:22)
