Every business is different. There is no single answer.

Many use digital systems and they back these up so it could a few years it depends on the business. Sounds like you are worrying about it so that cannot be a good thing.

It is digitized and can be kept for years.

These days it depends on the type of equipment they have and how active their cameras are so their's no consistent answer. Older equipment may only last a week or less, but these newer systems will store footage for months. If they have an incident they will store that separately for years. Business's generally decide how long keep the footage based on the amount of storage they have available.

If they have a modern system that records to a hard disk they would select their own "number of days" preference when setting it up. Most small businesses only keep the video a short time before it is overwritten by new video. Remember that if nothing bad happens at the business they do not even look at the recordings and the hard drive is continually overwriting the oldest video.

Depends on the business, and what they need the footage for. Regardless of what their normal retention policies are, they would still be able to hold on to footage that they may need later, such as for legal action.

The time varies considerably from one business to another.
Some may hold it for only a week; others may keep it for months.

Hard to say. I imagine some may use a company to store old footage somewhere.
