If I was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis 3 years ago, is it safe to drink again now?

I had acute pancreatitis 3 years ago from alcohol abuse. It has been 3 years since I had an alcoholic drink, am I alright to drink in moderation now?

Hi....M Alcohol is damaging in so many ways, and especially if one had acute pancreatitis in the past. Drinking alcohol increases the risk of mouth cancer, pharyngeal (upper throat) cancer, oesophageal (food pipe) cancer, laryngeal (voice box) cancer, breast cancer, bowel cancer and liver cancer. Alcohol can also raise ones risk of developing dementia later in life....Research also shows that drinking large amounts of alcohol can greatly increase your risk of having a stroke. Avoid it completely because what starts in moderation can turn into a serious problem....

This is a good question to discuss with your doctor.

No one here knows your medical history.

That being said, if you have a history of alcohol abuse, are you ABLE to drink in moderation?
