What the hell does tectonic plate movement have to do with pollution?

The two are totally unrelated. Most Water pollution is caused by Human Litter Bugs.

I'm assuming that the movement of the plates disrupt the surface causing sediments to fall into the oceans and rivers etc. Whatever humans activity is on land, this enters the water and pollutes it, such as chemicals for plants and fertilizers, concrete, cement. Maybe busted pipes or septic (if that's how you spell it) tanks that hold waste may leak during am earquake or other tectonic movement activity and pollutes the clean water causing an unhealthy environmental setting
