How much does it typically cost you to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich? (At least the way you make it).?

Around 40 cents depending on which bread I use.

I don't make it. Why do you think I do?

Maybe 15 cents or so. No more than 25 for sure

I haven't eaten grape jelly since I was a kid. I can buy a jar of peanut butter at ALDI for $2 or less and a jar of strawberry preserves for about the same.
A loaf of wheat bread goes for 89 cents. Two loaves, throwing out the crusts (which I do not) will yield 32 slices or 16 sandwiches. Assuming I use the contents of both jars (there may be some of each left over), I have spent $5.78.
That's about 36 cents per sandwich.
