What is more important for achieving goals: motivation or discipline?

Discipline. Motivation comes and goes. You need discipline to keep going when the motivation is gone.

No such thing as discipline. It’s an airy fairy word. Like it’s meant for a select few. It’s kinda like saying “if you don’t have it, that’s just too bad”
Work with what you got and you got a lot and it’s not discipline you need. You need an understanding of the variable ratio schedule, self-efficacy , Reward prediction error and a good understanding of effort (the true cost of effort). That’s all you really need.

Both are equally important. Our life experience is usually not either or but a combination of factors.

Discipline. You have to stick to it and keep at it. Motivation usually isn't hard, everyone wants the benefits.
