Are Japanese or South Korean cars better?

I'm not in the market for a car, but I'm just asking this out of curiosity, are cars from Japanese or South Korean brands considered better?

South Korean car quality has gotten much better. However, the Japanese still have better quality control in their factories especially the cars made in Japan. So i do believe the Japanese cars will still outlast the Korean cars but the korean cars do offer better warranty and they are guaranteed to go atleast 100k miles.

I would rate Honda, Toyota, and Mazda above Hyundai and Kia.

But a tougher call would be Hyundai and Kia versus Nissan, Mitsubishi, or Suzuki.

Japanese typically are much better, but the best Hyundai's beat some of the Japanese cars.

South Korea is Hyundai, KIA, Daewoo

Japanese Toyota, Lexus, Suzuki, Mazda, Honda, Acura, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Infiniti, Isuzu, Daihatsu, Scion, Subaru
