Suckers. Mine failed from rib fractures within a year.. I've heard worse.

Went to fiberglass Upgraded to sail. And tore that out and rebuilt for

pull using Liquid Force products. Much faster than sailing. The pull

choice when inflated serves as an emergency sail-capable ride.

Because there is lot of fishing in the Northwest on rivers. Rivers can have shallow spots with rocks, aluminum boats are must tougher than fiberglass and will not puncture as easily. If you notice, boats used for water sports like skiing are still fiberglass.

Al dents long before it holes. Fiberglas and some plastics can get brittle from UV damae if not covered, then a simple bump may equal a leak.

The Northwest has lots of dams.

    Dams make lots of electricity.

The electricity is applied to bauxite to make aluminum.

Aluminum is used to make boats. Also planes. And the Space Needle.

Even if no water power, Al boats would still be very popular, everywhere.

they are cheaper than fiberglass, weigh less, easier to tow and to handle.

Al just dents long before it holes. Fiberglas and some plastics can get UV damage and get brittle--a bump could mean a crack.

I could give you a long boring explanation but I'll keep it straight to the point: Because it's the northwest.

Because that's where the water is.

Aluminum boats are everywhere and have been for a very long time. Maybe you could ask a more specific question.
