I have poor eyesight. Does that affect my chances of becoming an american astronaut?

Also, is there anything other than laser eye surgery that can at least improve my eye sight like eye drops to heal damaged parts of my eye?

Pay it and then tell your employer you want then to pay you using the Bankers' Automated Clearing Services (BACS) in future.

BACS payments take three days to clear but go directly into your current account.

    1. No more lost cheques

    2. Guaranteed payment on a certain day each month - 3 days after payroll.

Why the hell is your employer using a method that is 100 years out of date in the first place

Yes, you normally need good eyesight to become an astronaut, though the standards may be different from the science/tech specialists vs the pilots.

Laser eye surgery is for near-sightedness. No, there are no eye drops that will cure actual eye damage.
