# average speed is 30km/h still have 10km to travel how long will it take?

Average Speed (Vavg) = 30 km/hr

Total distance travelled = 10 km

Total time taken (t) =?

We know that,

Average Speed (Vavg) = (Total distance travelled)/ Total time taken

Average Speed (Vavg) = (10km)/ Total time taken

30 km/hr = (10km)/ Total time taken

Total time taken = 10km/ (30km/hr)

= ⅓ hr ≈ 1200 sec

∴ Total time taken (t) = 1200 sec.

d = v * t

10 = 30 * t

t =⅓

One hour is 3,600 seconds.

t = ⅓ * 3,600 = 1,200 seconds

OR

Let’s convert the velocity from km/h to m/s and the distance from kilometers to meters.

1 km = 1000 m

1 hour = 3600 s

1 km/h = 1000/3600 = 5/18 m/s

v = 30 * 5/18 = 8⅓ m/s

d = 10,000 meters

d = v * t

10,000 = 8⅓ * t

t = 10,000 ÷ 8⅓ = 1,200 seconds

If you mean that your average speed is going to continue at 30 km/hr for the future.

Then as speed = distance / time -> time = distance / speed

= 10/30 = 1/3 hour.

( and if you wanted it in minutes you can replace the hour with 60 minutes. 1/3 of 60 = 20 minutes)
