Why are presidents accredited with unemployment rates and job numbers?

Unless it's a government job, the president can't make more jobs.

It can't be due to spending and budgeting either because that's the job of Congress.

The vast majority of jobs are made by the private sector which have nothing to do with the president

The government doesn't make jobs or create any wealth when it tries to make them.

But they can get in the way of other folks doing it.

When the president does his job, business is optimistic and expands. When he is a jack-***, they contract, fire unnecessary people, and hold all the cash they can.

Rightly or wrongly, that's pretty much how it plays out. When the economy is doing well, Presidents are quick to take credit for it and when the economy is not doing well, the political opposition is equally quick to blame them for it.

Presidents can initiate tax cuts and deregulations. These things are a boon to business.

The president can affect the job market by slashing costly regulations that cause employers to reduce their workforce. Our president has been doing just that.

    Thanks for playing.
