Never knew that. I suppose it's not economical if the driver runs the air con while he's delivering, costly in fuel if you keep the engine running all day. Seems inhumane though, you'd need to drink gallons of water in summer.

    A) They stop very frequently and shut off so it would not do much good.

    B) They leave the doors open all the time (do they even have doors to the cab?).

    C) They cut expenses to the bone.

Well I think in my humble opinion that they get in and out often and they usually drive with their doors open. Sometimes even in rain, cold, or on the highway you see some UPS driver with his or her door open. However some UPS trucks do have heating and AC

Doh! Because their doors are always open.

Simple answer is cost. When you own a fleet of thousands of vehicles, omitting AC saves a fortune. It also reduces maintenance costs considerably. In addition, as many stops as the drivers make, opening doors, etc., AC would not be very efficient anyway.

What if the UPS truck is delivering an air conditioning system?

Because the doors are always open year round. The drivers barely stop before they are out of the vehicle and half way to the house.

Because the delivery drivers are in and out of the truck so frequently.
