If the Big One hit California what would happen to it?

    The rim will fall off into the ocean. It would be devastating.

    Lots of buildings would be damaged beyond repair. Lots of fires and deaths from people being crushed or trapped under debris that cannot be rescued. Much like the 1994 Northridge earthquake where over 8700 people lost their lives but it would be much more devastating than that was.
