How many Platys can I have?
How many Platys can I put in a 10 gallon fish tank?
I love platys they are so peaceful and beautiful, I only have a 10 gallon fish tank and I wish I had enough room to have a 55 gallon but I just cant, so for now What is the maximum capacity for them in my 10 gallon??

In my opinion, 10 gallons is a little too small for Platies. They require at least 3 of their own kind, and I think even with just 3 males to prevent breeding/overstocking you would need a 15 gallon.
You might consider Guppies instead, which are smaller relatives of Platies and also come in a variety of colors and patterns. 3-4 male Guppies would work nicely in a 10 gallon.

The one inch per gallon rule, is not a very reliable rule.
You should always plan for the total adult size of the fish.
Platies can reach 2" in adult size.
Typically, I don't consider 10g suitable for platies, simply because they do best in groups and are also quick reproducers.
Platies should be kept 3-4 females per male or the female will be harassed to death. -- amneris3

The rule of thumb is 1" of fish per gallon of water.
