Does "global cooling" involve global temperatures going UP?

Several sources have cited this past June as the warmest June on record, we've seen large heat waves in Europe, Alaska and eastern North America, the Arctic sea ice is near the lowest ever for the time of the year. Are these the indicators of "global cooling"? Does it ever involve any actual cooling?

Update:

I have to say that the three answers so far touting "global cooling" must be aimed at scientifically illiterate people. Giving a bunch of news reports about it being cold here or there around the world is completely irrelevant if the global mean temperature goes up, and it is.

Is that really the best you guys can do?

Update 2:

According to both NOAA, NASA GISS and the RSS satellite temperatures, June of this year is the warmest on record. The UAH lower troposphere number is the second warmest on record. There is no "cooling".

Update 3:

An anonymous answer says that my information about RSS temperature is incorrect, so in a comment to that answer I have given a link to the RSS global data, that way it should be easy for them to show me a year with a higher June lower troposphere temperature....or not.

Update 4:

Apparently the vulgar troll--since he can't debate the science--has taken to posting numerous irrelevant answers.

It seems it's been a long time since it was fashionable for them to use actual global temperature records. They used to always use UAH and start it (arbitrarily) at 1998, but even this hasn't worked out for them since 2015. So they're left with cherry picking all of the Google News results they find when searching "snow" and "cold". And, of course, these results are meaningless: at any given time you can do the same thing with searches for "heat".

Most of Argentina, and all of Paraguay and Uruguay, are over 10 C hotter than average right now, not to mention the intense heat wave between Chicago and NYC or the European heat wave a few weeks ago. Several other examples too; global map for today here: https://climatereanalyzer.org/wx/DailySummary/#t2a...

Unfortunately a long list of examples of cold temperatures (or "lots of snow", which is generally irrelevant but excites them all the same) is still an effective tactic for those who don't know any better. I think many of the ones who generate these lists do know better, they just don't care and/or have run out of any better way to try to prove the global cooling alarmism that they so desperately want to believe in.

Clearly not, if the word "cooling" has its normal meaning (as opposed to "cool" meaning "the latest thing").

Here is the 'official' last word.

Quote by Steven Guilbeault, Canadian environemental journalist and Greenpeace member: "Global warming can mean colder, it can mean drier, it can mean wetter."

Sounds real scientific, doesn't it? What Steven really says is that GW is any crap that you are gullible enough to believe. It is the same as back in the days of the impending Ice Age, back in the 60s and 70s.

Life magazine of January 30, 1970, stated: “Scientists have solid experimental and theoretical evidence to support . . . predictions” such as: “In a decade, urban dwellers will have to wear gas masks to survive air pollution,” and “increased carbon dioxide in the atmosphere will affect earth’s temperature, leading to mass flooding or a new ice age.”

Notice, CO2 back then was going to cause the earth to cool. Now these same people are trying to tell you CO2 will make the earth burn up.

Anything to advance their agenda. "The ends justify the means." Quote by Karl Marx

You don’t understand what proof is, do you? No wonder you’re incompetent at science. No matter how much you’d like something to be true, just saying it doesn’t make it so.

Take on it from texas point of view

The Piney Woods is the eastern region of Texas and is within the humid subtropical climate zone. It receives the most rainfall; more than 60 inches (1,500 mm) annually in the far east.[1] This is due to the gulf currents that carry humid air to the region, where it condenses and precipitates out in the vicinity of sea breeze fronts as well as when extratropical cyclones move by. While coastal sections see the most cloudy days statewide and year-round, northern sections see the most clear days during the summer.[2] The wettest months of the year are April and May.[3] The area is prone to severe thunderstorms and tornadoes when the proper conditions exist, generally in the springtime. Hurricanes also strike the region, the most disastrous of which was the Galveston Hurricane of 1900.[10] More recently Hurricane Rita pummeled the Golden Triangle of southeast Texas.[11] The higher humidity of the region amplifies the feeling of heat during the summer. During winter and spring along the immediate coast, temperatures are kept cool by relatively cool gulf waters. Dense advection fog can form when warm air moves over the cool shelf waters during February and March, stopping ship traffic for days.

International areas with comparable climate: Taiwan; Philippines; much of the Southern parts of Queensland, Australia

    what is GW?

As As governments continue to be overtaken by special interests around the world, profits will inevitably be prioritized over the well-being of the working class, destroying countless lives in the name of competition. It’s no wonder why our international cinema has currently become populated by 21st century Capra-esque protagonists like Ken Loach’s Daniel Blake and Stéphane Brizé’s Thierry Taugourdeau. The latter character was portrayed by Vincent Lindon in Brizé’s 2015 gem, “The Measure of a Man,” a quietly incendiary portrait of a laid off factory worker who finds crucial employment at a supermarket, where he is tasked with ratting out shoplifters.

The simmering frustrations and indignities endured by the disenfranchised souls so compassionately observed by Brizé is brought to a full boil in his latest collaboration with Lindon, appropriately titled “At War.” With his mustache shaven off and eyes often bulging with outrage, Lindon brings a considerably fiercer presence to his role here as Laurent Amédéo, the spokesman for 1,100 employees at Agen, a French car part supply plant, who are left jobless when it is closed by Perrin Industries. This sudden move by the company breaks their promise made two years prior that workers’ jobs would be secured for at least five years, provided they work longer hours for no additional pay while forfeiting their bonuses in the process.

In the film’s first of many heated confrontations set within the sterile interiors of boardrooms cloaked in the façade of civility, Laurent and his fellow union representatives quickly demonstrate that they are the opposite of naive, adding up the hours of unpaid labor that saved the company million of euros, increasing Agen’s profits considerably over the past year. With courts approving the company’s right to close the plant, despite no evidence of their decision’s economic necessity, Laurent leads the union on a 23-day strike, refusing to return to work unless they are granted a meeting with Hauser (Martin Hauser), the CEO of Perrin’s German parent company, Dimke Group, which oversaw the recent growth of shareholder dividends.

    Here's the issue I have ...

On the one hand, despite what some Americans tell themselves, we have huge amounts of evidence for global warming. It is entirely consistent with established laws of physics and the experimentally determined properties of CO2 and other greenhouse gases.

On the other, we have predictions that solar activity will drop based on the fact that the trend in the TSI curves is downwards. Of course, when warmists 'project' it's problematic. But coolists ... fine!

We have some papers with dynamo models of the sun predicting cooling. Never mind the fact that these models have very little experimental evidence to validate them, the coolists think these models are right. But all those other ones that show warming due to a mechansim that has been observed experimentally ... nah, they're wrong? Ahem ...

And we have theories on cloud seeding from galactic cosmic rays cooling the earth. You know, the theory that is still controversial since many groups can't find significant relationships between measured particle counts and cloud cover? No one denies that the mechanism is possible, maybe even probable. It's the significance the coolists are guessing at.

Being alarmist when there are bells ringing is one thing. Coolists are alarmist just to take the diametrically opposite view with less evidence to support it.

NASA has massively adjusted the past downwards since 1981 via station selection. The global temperature record is a complete farce, just like the people at NASA, NOAA and Berkeley Earth who work on it.

NOAA turns very cold regions to warm, and areas of no data to record hot. The magic of data tampering and fake data.

Get the red crayons out and color red everywhere for their useful idiots.

The situation is equivalent to having the same people act as player, coach, cheerleader, referee and scorekeeper. They are guaranteed to get the result they want.  The biggest scientific fraud in history.

In Petrozavodsk, the temperature dropped to 3.2C (37.8C) last Friday — comfortably busting the city’s previous July record low of 3.6C (38.5F).

Cherepovets, a city in Vologda Oblast, set a new July low of 1.8C (35.2F) — annihilating the previous record of 5C (41F) set in 1968.

In Tikhvin, a town in Leningrad Oblast, the 2.4C (36.3F) measured last Friday smashed the previous record of 5.3C (41.5F) set way back in 1958.

While the 5.4C (41.7F) observed in the riverside city of Kostroma just pipped the previous 1968 record of 5.5C (41.9F).

The average daily temperature has been 8-10C below normal in July which: “has not been observed in the middle of summer for almost 50 years!

Liberal (mainstream) media never reports anything that doesnt fit. They fought hard to black out, then explain away the leaked emails (both incidents). And no non-alarmist scientist (mostly civilian) are ever allowed on "news" shows or public debates, even C-SPAN.
