Why do KKK members commit acts of racial or religious terrorism? Theoretically, because of their insecure fear that people of color or of religions different from their own might pose a threat to their very existence. They worry that such people might be just as good as they are, or better, thus depriving them of their only standard of superiority, in the absence of any intrinsic feeling of self-worth.

Examples: White men killing black men because they are afraid white women will find them more attractive [they feel unattractive]; killing Jews because they are afraid Jews are more intelligent than Christians [they feel stupid].
