Could we possibly return to newest questions first? Wouldn't that be sensible?

That's why the Answer tab, at the top of every question list, is designed that way. The Discover tab is the default, and those questions will tend to be older (many not open to new answers).

Remember to form your questions as knowledge seeking, and not rhetorical or admonishing, especially since you're asking the other users here (not anyone who works for Yahoo and can do anything about changing the programming of the site).

Most people are able to figure out the difference between the discover and answer tab on their own.

Making sense is against Yahoo Policy. What are you? some kind of anarchist?
