Will China increase the price of exports so that Christmas presents, decorations, and bibles cost more in response to the tariffs?

I don't know if China will raise the PRICE of its goods. But Trump's tariffs are what is causing prices at American companies like Walmart to increase. Walmart says it MUST raise its prices on all the Chinese goods they sell (and most of their products are manufactured in China) thanks to Trump and his tariffs on China.

"President Donald Trump increased tariffs on $200 billion worth of Chinese imports to 25 percent from 10 percent last week. The move is widely expected to raise prices on thousands of products including clothing, furniture and electronics. "

Always remember that when Trump places tariffs on a country, it is US, the USA consumer, that must pay for those tariffs. Actually it is the importing company that pays; tariffs are payed to USA custom's agents at the border by the importer. So Walmart is the importer. They pay Trump's tariffs on Chinese goods at the border. So then they must charge higher prices for their Chinese stuff they sell. And it is the consumer that pays those higher prices. Trump still seems to think that it is China paying, but it is not.

places like that may try to continue gouging their eg Tenfold profit margins & pass on Any cost increases tenfold to gouge& maintain market control rather than purchase from vendors they doNot control& where their profit margins may be 'only' Fivefold etc, but consumers Will find ok values elsewhere

Sure, it is. But it's not China. It will be the US which will increase the price. You don't know why? We don't like China anymore. It has cheated us for years.

Chinese will charge as much as they can for their products and if US companies could source those goods at a lower price elsewhere, they would, that is just the nature of capitalism.

It seems that Trump has realized that those Christmas presents, decorations, and bibles can't be sourced at lower costs at the moment and that the cost DO get payed for by American consumers, so he is delaying those tariffs.

I don't think China is concerned about the trade wars when they are making the US suffer economically. The US wages are stagnant and interest rates went up.

There appear to be many worldwide business people who are ignoring Trump's bad policies and saying no thanks to Washington's deregulation policies. Four of the Worlds biggest automakers have dealt a significant blow to Trump's attempts to roll back Obama era policies. They support protecting the environment and making deals with the California governor. No wonder Trump's hates him, he is ignoring Trump. This really makes the GOP look like evil greedy morons.

The Republicans must face the fact that the US has suffered economically under their failed leadership and unnecessary wars. We have fallen behind and as a result, other countries are not dependent on the US to buy their goods. The most progressive want to protect planet earth while Trump seems to want to destroy it for profit.

The Trump Republicans have lost their trade war. Trump has bankrupt the US in just two years.

it is not China that increases prices. It's the US government that collects tariffs when goods reach USA. AMERICANS PAY.

As long as they know that all will end if Trump is not reelected, they will not only continue to resist coming to the table. But will also try to influence the election. After all, they influenced the last as much as the Russian did yet are hardly talked about.

Something you low IQ types never seem to learn.... China NEEDS the USA as a trading partner... we DON'T need them.

So far, China has backed down EVERY time the President has confronted them on trade.

But hey, Let's not let facts get in the way of you spreading total BS

China now is taking over Africa and can move into Mexico and Canada, leaving the USA with many fewer markets. Without dealing with USA they will have plenty of surplus to dump on world markets. USA needed China for many reasons, if no other, to moderate North Korea
