Do people, who are rude and evil at work, usually live miserable lives at home? Can a genuinely happy person be rude or evil at work?

Probably. In my experience, if people are rude, it's because they have their own insecurities and frustrations. It's a terrible way of dealing with conflict, but some people don't have proper coping mechanisms.

If a person is genuinely happy, they would not have any reason to be impolite to others.

I used to have a co worker that was exactly that. Rude and evil. He died at age 40 something. I think the "great spirit" gives up on people like that eventually, and puts them out of their misery.

Of course not. Happy people are not rude, rude people are not happy.
