Why not encourage sanctuary cities so long as they agree to cover the costs?
If a sanctuary city is willing to accept illegal aliens, why not let them, so long as they have a system and contractually agree to cover the costs?
If San Francisco wants to take all the illegals being held at the Mexico/California border why not let them? With the stipulation that San Fran agrees to provide all housing costs, provide food stamps, health insurance, etc. Should any of these immigrants leave the city, San Francisco, would have to pay full costs to either have them brought back or deported. Obviously immigrants in this scenario wouldn’t be illegal, but would be probationary residents status by their sanctuary city. Obviously should any of these immigrants commit a crime it would fall on the sanctuary city to cover any and all court costs, imprisonment costs etc.
If sanctuary cities are truly prepared to cover all costs at their expense, what’s he problem?

They will never do that.
Remember how p*ssed the sanctuary cities got when President Trump wanted to drop off illegals in their sanctuaries?
they said it was "inhuman".

I HAVE A BETTER IDEA. MAKE ENTERING OR BEING IN THIS COUNTRY ILLEGALLY WITH THE PENALTY BEING 5 YEARS OF HARD LABOR FOR THE FIRST OFFENSE, 10 YEARS FOR THE SECOND OFFICE AFTER THAT WE WILL JUST SHOOT THEM

This kind of encouragement leads to more uncontrolled immigration. Don't need anymore immigration.
Word will get down to central America.

They must also agree to keep their criminals inside their own city limits so they can't run out, commit other crimes and run back crying, "Sanctuary!!"

This whole concept of sanctuary city vs. non-sanctuary city & let ICE deport every illegal a city comes in contact with is crazy..There needs to be a reasonable "middle ground"

Because they will not do it.. They just want the ones who they can register to vote but they do not want to pay the bill for them.. They want your taxes and you to pay it for them.

You are confused as to what a sanctuary city is.
All that means is that current federal immigration law does not require state and local law enforcement to do the job of ICE concerning illegals immigrants.
Sanctuary cities are merely following current federal immigration law.

You seem to not understand the nature of a sanctuary city. Those cities do not actually provide sanctuary to anyone. They simply instruct cops not to hold people without bail solely on the oral request of a federal cop who has no warrant. Nothing more. Once there is no state law reason to hold a person, if the feds want him, they need a warrant. It means nothing more.

If sanctuary cities were required to truly bear all the costs of immigrants shipped to them not a one would do it, at least not for long.
