We are pawns of the USA and even more acquiescent in the run-up to Brexshit when we'll need some sort of preferential trade deal with them! So , we'll send them people who've broken no UK law but have pissed off Trumpy and they'll send us chlorinated chicken!

Assange piddled in everyone's soup and he will have to pay the price. The UK has repeatedly refused extradition for others it considers would not receive a fair trial.
Not really a comparable situation with HK.

The extradition bill has been dropped but the fact extradition to China was proposed is symptomatic of democracy in Hong Kong being undermined by China which is why the protests are continuing.
The UK doesn't automatically agree to US extradition requests. The extraditions of computer hackers Lauri Love and Gary McKinnon were blocked for example.
