Why do my eyes get really small when I wear glasses?

My eyes are a smidge on the larger side but when I wear my glasses they shrink and just look beady, why is this? Can I change that if I go back to my eye doctor?

They look small because of the prescription in your glasses. You are nearsighted so your glasses are concave. Concave lenses make things look smaller. If you hold your glasses away from your face and look through them, you will see this effect. There are no changes that can be made to your glasses that will significantly change this. You could have special lenses made that are thinner but the effect of making your eyes look smaller will be virtually unchanged. About the only solution is to wear contacts.
