What was the new religion that the Pax Romana brought to the empire?

    Mithraism, I guess. Maybe the worship of Serapis and Isis.

    Christianity was persecuted in the Empire during the whole time span of the Pax Romana.

    Ultimately Christianity. Prior to that, the Romans brought their gods (which in the later stages of the Empire include Emperors). The Roman gods, for the most part, were just a repackaging job on the Greek gods.
