Why does the media fawn over celebrities that have "overcome challenges/sickness, etc." but don't care about average people who have?

    Because they are famous so people know them Most.People usually aren't going to care about the average people. People love to know about Celebrities lives.Everyone has their own challenges though, even Celebrities do.

    If you want to read about the news of average people you can just read/watch the daily news

    Media are crazy about celebs but could not care less about average people who have nothing crazy or what.

    That is easy, dot. It is because "average people" like to read about celebrities, not "average people." When employed by the Fourth Estate, Tad wrote many human-interest stories about "average people," and many of those stories were well-accepted. I still see those stories in the media today; you just need to broaden your viewing/reading/listening to find them.
