Germany did not surrender quickly.
The German High Command could not face up to the idea that Germany had lost the war, and blamed not themselves but German civilians who did not support the war, the Communists, the Catholics and eventually settled for the ever popular scapegoat, the Jews.
Dave (the poster with the hourglass avatar) faithfully repeats the nonsense story that 'the Zionists' offered to betray Germany by 'bringing the US into the war' in return for 'the rights to Palestine.' He often quotes the Balfour Declaration in support of this story.
It falls down on a number of points:
He has never named any German Jew or Zionist who made such a proposal.
He has never explained how, in a time of war, they managed to contact the British Government to make the offer.
He has never explained *how* they had such extraordinary influence over the US. (At first he maintained, repeating the old lie that the Jews 'run the media' that they would influence public opinion through their mysterious influence over the press. As the US media was pretty well run by Randolph Hearst, from an Ulster Protestant family this did not make sense and some vague references to the blackmail of Woodrow Wilson replaced it)
The UK did not have 'the rights to Palestine' in 1917 and the territory they later had rights in did not include Jerusalem.
The Balfour Declaration (quite short and in plain English) does not make any such offer - instead it offers nothing but good will towards the idea of a Jewish homeland in the Middle East, provided everyone concerned is in favour of it (Dave has tried to twist this proviso into a 'warning to the Zionists not to make trouble in the Middle East').
The 'stab in the back' myth is just that. Another Nazi lie.
