The bitter taste of brussel sprouts is already an affront to Belgium.

in other languages they aren't called "Brussel"

    • 9 months agoReport

In some languages they are unrepeatable, unlike the actual vegetables.

Yes, how about London cabbage? Or Irish cabbage. We had some organic BS the other day and they were good, better than the past. May be they are improving them.

    What about English Muffins?

We have an English™ muffin in No.10
Although he still could turn out to be a pancake after all.

I wouldn't worry too much, the only time 99% of the UK population show any interest in brussels sprouts is on Christmas Day.

And half of that 99% on December 25th are trying to avoid them.

The name has to offend a Liberal for that to happen.

We only got the name from the French choux de Bruxelles (Brussels cabbages). The rest of Europe calls them diminutive cabbages. After Brexit, it won't matter what you call them - you'll starve anyway.

Starving in the name of freedom.
      Frightening them on the beaches.
Never in the field of human confit.... Etc.

You could call them "Freedom Sprouts." They'll still be hated by kids all over the world.

They are one of the foods that improve with your age. When you hit 50, you will acquire the taste. Another one is carrots.
