Brussel sprouts? Should we change the name of this delicious vegetable in the spirit of Brexit and as an affront to the EU?

The bitter taste of brussel sprouts is already an affront to Belgium.

Yes, how about London cabbage? Or Irish cabbage. We had some organic BS the other day and they were good, better than the past. May be they are improving them.

I wouldn't worry too much, the only time 99% of the UK population show any interest in brussels sprouts is on Christmas Day.
And half of that 99% on December 25th are trying to avoid them.

The name has to offend a Liberal for that to happen.

We only got the name from the French choux de Bruxelles (Brussels cabbages). The rest of Europe calls them diminutive cabbages. After Brexit, it won't matter what you call them - you'll starve anyway.

You could call them "Freedom Sprouts." They'll still be hated by kids all over the world.
