What does it mean when a new (female) employee asks co-worker if he has any children, and then tells him how nice he is?

Let’s say she asked him that in relation to what a sweet and kind person she is, and that she told him that she was just talking to their female co-worker (who’s training her) about how nice he is and that the trainer agrees.

Ask her why does she ask. And if she has kids. She probably wants to know because people with kids plan on being nice to other people who have the same.

Don't do anything until she invites you to help rearrange the stock room.

    she is being casually polite.

She is merely being polite, trying to fit in. If you thinks she wants to date you, you are dead wrong.

Why does it mean anything?? Sounds like casual conversation by a new employee.

stay professional and do your job. personal relationships at work rarely work out and when they don't, it gets very awkward.
