Theoretical perspectives on the view that sociology can/should be seen as a science?
One of the theory and method debates in sociology is ‘is sociology a science’ - the 4 arguments are can, should, can’t and shouldn’t. I need to know what functionalists, Marxists, feminists and postmodernists think. Need the specification answers not your opinions !

Look at it this way. If Sociology were not considered a "science", then there would be no need to study it. In reality, people who take interest in the subject have to justify their study in some way and in order to legitimize their opinions--they refer to it as a science. Of course, there are no absolute truths or facts that can be replicated with respect to the various notions that appear in relation to sociology. It is simply an outlet for those who have deep rooted opinions to express them. They will tout "The Scientific Method" as a justification of their conclusions, however any data collected by humans about humans is subject to manipulation. Sociology is not a science it is a "feel good" outlet for those who typically want to criticize society to satisfy their personal issues.

As a person who has done hard science we laugh at social science. Youre as science as psuedo science. All three follow the scientific method. However only hard science can achieve all criteria in the method unlike social science.

In short, there are scientific elements of the social sciences that can be explored through positivistic empirical research. But, there is more to social interaction than merely the observable, patterned concrete details. Subjectivity is inherent in social interaction, requiring some inquiry into how people interpret social phenomena and their subjective experience that cannot be observed and measured. But critical theory is bunk because it makes assumptions about social reality that are not universal. It assumes any given minority has less power than any given individual in the dominant group, which is absurd and is demonstrably false just by going to any homeless encampment and seeing members of the dominant group there and comparing them in relative power terms to minority CEOs and politicians.

See what I mean, irrelevant answers, if you don’t have an answer don’t bother. There’s no argument for these and google can’t understand such wordy questions and will go into interpretivists and positivists because that’s the larger picture, this side part isn’t so important but I still need to answer it

In other words you don't care about the subject itself. You just want us to do your homework for you so that you won't have to think about it.
