Eye color?

How did my daughter get blue eyes if the mother has green and the father has hazel?

    You both carry a blue gene, simple as that.

    The child's eye color doesn't need to be the same as the parents.

    Blue or green eye colour is the result of a recessive gene.

    my mother has brown eyes and my dad had green eyes. All us 5 kids got green eyes and one sister got blue eyes (probably from a grandparent).

    your family's and ancestor's dna carries genes for different eye colors. it could skip a generation or more.
