When I have people saying there is "no preamble to the bill of rights", how can I even speak logically to the ignorant?

Samwise: No it did not. Did you ever read the comments of congressman who introduced it saying that " ….no one could ever think of this as a handcuff on state's rights...". What he did not know was that ignorant of corrupt jurists could, and did, and the morons in congress went along with it. There are no courts at the time in 1868 that would even have considered the 14th amendment as doing such, certainly not with state constitutions still enforced that required people to profess Christianity to run for office, and the federal government not taking any actions against them.

Why do people not understand that later on, the Fourteenth Amendment extended the reach of that "handcuff" to state governments?
