    current flows through, not across

    first get total R

    20 parallel with 35 = 20•35/55 = 12.73

    in series with 15 that is 27.73

    Total I = 10/27.73 = 0.3607 amps

    that produces voltage across the parallel pair of

    E = IR = 0.3607 x 12.73 = 4.591 volts

    and that produces a current thru the 20 of

    I = E/R = 4.591 / 20 = 0.23 amps

    Find the effective resistance of the two resistors in parallel.  1/R=1/20+1/35

    This is in series with the 15 ohm so simply add R+15 = total resistance

    Find current via V=IR
