    √(7^2 + 11^2) inches which is about 13 inches.

    c = √(a^2 + b^2)

    c = √(7^2 + 11^2)

    c = √(170) or 13 in answer//

    Use Pythagoras. The square on the hypotenuse = sum of squares on the other two sides.

    In this case, the diagonal is the hypotenuse:

    7^2 + 11^2 = h^2

    49 + 121 = h^2

    170 = h^2

    h = 13 inches

    7 squared =49;  11 squared = 121;......49+121 = 170;....square root of 170 = 13.0384

    Use the Pythagorean theorem: A²+B² = C² where A and B represent the sides of a right triangle, and C represents the diagonal.

    7² + 11² = C²

    C² = 170

    C = √170

    C = 13.04

    C ≈ 13 inches (rounded)............ANS
