Defrag your computer or format and reinstall the os. Be in mind that formatting will erase everything on the hard drive. Ccleaner is a great software too to speed computer up

After years of use computers get cluttered up with crap that really effects performance.

I backed up all my data, documents, videos, music, and then did a Factory Restore that erased everything and restored to like it was when it was brand new. Then I loaded up the apps I needed and my data into it and it was so peppy I gave up the thought of getting a new one.

I've done that twice over the years to an 8 year old Lenovo Thinkpad and it still works great for me.
