Do I need a pre amp for recording in Logic Pro x?

I’m 14. I’m not dropping over $500

Also I know about plugins

You can get a zoom H4n pro for $200. It can double as an interface. The microphones' recording ability is very good also.

An audio interface with a preamp in. One such as this: https://focusrite.com/usb-audio-interface/scarlett...

    Other audio interfaces are available.

By pre amp if you mean a pod to connect to your computer then technically no but it is extremely recommended. If you have the right adapter you can plug in your guitar right into the computer using the preamp will give you a lot of benefits like making your guitar sound exactly how you want it. It usually has a high quality tuner built in and the quality of the sound will be crystal clear depending on the one you buy but definitely A LOT better with the pre amp.
