Is it true that Florida has now lifted the ban on felons voting, and now white voters are the minority there ?
Has this got something to do with Trump winning Florida in 2016 ?
Florida Amendment 4, also the Voting Rights Restoration for Felons Initiative, is an amendment to the Constitution of Florida passed by ballot initiative on November 6, 2018, as part of the 2018 Florida elections. ... Amendment 4 passed with 64.55% of voters in favor.
I did find out that non hispanic whites under 70 y/o in Florida now are only 49.9% of the population.
That's who are the minority now, not all whites. Ny original question contained errors regarding just who was a " white minority".

It is hard to tell for sure because you do not need to note your race when voting. According to the 2017 American Community Survey (the rolling survey that replaced the Long Form of the Census), the non-Hispanic white population of Florida is approximately 54.9% of the population. As in most states, non-Hispanic whites are a larger proportion of the "native born population" and Hispanics are a larger proportion of the "foreign born" categories (for both naturalized citizen and not a citizen categories). Thus, non-Hispanic whites are a slightly larger proportion of the citizen category than 54.9%.
The problem with using under 70 y/o as your data point is that there is a minimum voting age (18) and no maximum voting age. So you are excluding voters and including non-voters. If you look at the under 18 data, you will see that non-Hispanic whites are a minority of that groups; so the over 18 population is even more white than the 54.9%
Looking at the under 18 population (and the fact that over 95% of the under 18 population is native born), it is likely that in the near future, Florida will me a minority majority state.
Of course that is a separate issue from whether voting rights should be restored after the completion of a felony sentence. Not surprisingly, every U.S. state has a different rule on whether ex-felons can vote. (In my state, the rule has been that upon completion of probation or parole ex-felons can vote.) Even the most liberal U.S. state tends to have a more restrictive rule than that followed by other democracies like Canada, the United Kingdom, or Australia.

In 2018 Florida voters approved a ballot measure which repealed the lifetime ban on voting for most felons. Murderers, rapists, and I believe other violent criminals are still banned from voting, but people with non violent felonies can now vote. The Florida legislature passed a law related to this saying that felons have to complete their whole sentence, including parole/probabtion, and pay back all fines that they might have incurred. This will keep some people from voting.
Whites are not a minority in Florida, let alone a minority of voters (there are only IIRC three "majority minority" states in the US: California, Hawaii, and Texas). The felon enfranchisement law is expected to give the vote back to something like one or two hundred thousand voters. How many of those will exercise that vote is another question.

No, that is NOT true...........
they lifted the ban on EX-FELONS. Not current felons. They restored the rights of people who served their time and paid their debt to society-----so they argued the LIFE LONG punishment of not being able to vote was UNFAIR.
If a debt is paid.......then it's paid........you shouldn't be penalized for it, forever.
