Why is it morally ok to murder animals but morally wrong to murder humans?

Humans are animals too. What is so special about them?

IT IS IN MANY STATES.. IN Virginia you can have a baby now and let it starve to death or give it no medical care and just let it die,,,

Most Dems say its legal to kill a baby as long as its not born yet, IT CAN HAVE A HEART BEAT, a Brain, ten fingers, ten toes and even HAVE FEELINGS... BUT IS OK TO KILL IT INSIDE THE WOMB....

LETS LEGALIZE ABORTION UP TO THE AGE OF 18. LET THE PARENTS KILL THEIR KIDS,, any child living at home can legally be starved, have it head bash in and the brain sucked out with a vacuum cleaner etc...

LETS ABORT ALL OUR TEENS who do nothing at all for society and stay in trouble most of the time... legally LET US KILL OUR KIDS...

Human rights are a game rule humans invented to govern our interactions with other humans. As others have said, most animals treat their own species with a degree of respect that they don't grant to others.

"right" is derived from a very ancient indo european word for a straight line. Ruler, regal, ray, regulate etc. It's a human attempt to impose straight lines on chaotic nature. It might work with humans, but trying to impose it on every other species will simply not work.

Animal welfare is a good thing, the concept of animal rights is entirely unhelpful, in many cases counterproductive. Freeing mink from fur farms in England wiped out water voles . Grassland grazed by animals supports wildlife and stores carbon in a way that fields of crops don't. Wool is better for the enviromnment than acrylic fabrics, cotton etc. Lard and suet have a lower carbon footprint than any vegetable oils. Vegans make lousy farmers

PETA spend their time inventing stats and killing stray animals

  • because did they make guns? no so we get to use the guns to kill the beta species

Slaughtering humans is not immoral according to Planned Parenthood.

Morality differs between cultures and in some it's actually not okay to "murder" animals. Go to India and harass a cow and see how quickly your morality is questioned.

Humans are more than animals. That's what is so special about us.

The word 'murder' doesn't apply to animals. That doesn't mean that morality doesn't enter into killing them; it absolutely does. But even killing humans isn't necessarily murder.

Thereโ€™s nothing particularly special about humans compared to animals. It is just as despicable to kill an animal as it is a human.

Well, lions mercilessly hunt down their preys, but they tend to have a soft spot reserved for their fellow lions in their packs. Likewise, all pack animals tend to avoid harming one another, and try to survive together within their packs, because it is in their natural instinct. We too are pack animals, so it is in our natural instinct to feel more sympathy towards other humans than towards animals.

There really is no "right or wrong" in this world. It is all defined by whoever perceives things as right or wrong.

I agree with what you're saying but I feel like people naturally put people as a first priority because we are both the same species. Maybe we instinctively take care of each other but see it as okay to hurt other species in order to help ours.
