It depends on how you use it. Just don't yell the word in front of a black person, under any circumstances

If a word is a derogatory, name-calling word, which is meant to insult and hurt another person, why would it be 'good?' Of course it's bad! Who needs it? Why is there a need to resort to any name-calling of any other human being?

the N word meaning Nazi or Negga only implies that the person is cheap in thought, word and deed.

Some people think it's NEVER permissible..

Others think it's fine for black people to use it when talking to or about each other.

Others, including me, think it's perfectly all right for ANYONE to use it in a limited number of specific contexts such as academic discussions on the history of the word. For example, it's OK for teachers and their students to use and discuss the word in lessons based on 'Huckleberry Finn'.

It's only 'bad' when it's used casually and without consideration for its very offensive history.

Absolutely, unless you are an African American comedian.  Then it gets said 100 time in a 45 minute period.
