    Which movie version? The 1944 version starring Sir Laurence Olivier omits the traitors scene, as it was meant to be a morale booster for the British in World War II. Kenneth Branaugh's 1989 version flies in a scene from Henry IV, Part I to shed light on Henry's past. Both versions treat the Salic law speech differently, Olivier's portrayed as comedy and Branaugh's as drama. Of course both are valid, as the text allows both interpretations.
