Are there any good 12V 1000Ah batteries out there?

    Yea,,some deep cycle marine batteries. A newer Li-ion forklift battery  to like 6000 AH will run a house for a week. And they come in a lot bigger.

    Very high capacity ones are normally built from multiple units, cells or smaller capacity batteries in series/parallel arrangements.

    eg. You could use six of the individual 1070 AH cells from here:

    Or ten, 100 AH 12V batteries in parallel.

    Another option for fixed installations is Nickel-iron (NiFe) cells - they are more expensive to start with, but have a service life of 50 - 100 years; possibly longer, but they have not been around long enough to be sure!

    They need the electrolyte replacing every few years, but the cells/batteries themselves do not seem to degrade. Some from the early 1900s are still in use.
