why did the colonists think that the sons of liberty were patriots?

    The Sons of Liberty were willing to do whatever it took to protect the rights of citizens in the Thirteen Colonies. They also gave colonists a voice in the affairs of the colonies; the main thing denied to them by their king and Parliament.
