Most people get their health ins via jobs. Perhaps you should get one of those jobs???

it's not affordable and the quality is low.

Because nationalized health care is not affordable or quality. That is why, in the industrialized nations, there is STILL a thriving private health insurance industry that provides affordable, quality care to those who do not want to make themselves wards of the state. We've already had this discussion. You need to catch up.

Which exposes the myth. Cheap, poor quality care for those who can't afford better. Subsidized by the wealthy.

There are several reasons why the U.S. has very high healthcare costs including:

1 An obese, unhealthy population. Other countries beginning to see the same however)

    2. High malpractice costs.

    3. Very high end of life costs including costly hail marry procedures

    4. Policies that create high prescription drug costs.

    5. Inefficiently run government programs.

The problem in the U.S. is that the discussion is all about whether health insurance should be taxpayer funded or not. There is however no real effort to address the actual causes causes of high cost healthcare.

Our medical and insurance lobbies are stronger and contribute more money than any of those other countries would allow. The other industrialized nations do have some corruption and do allow some lobbying, but not when it comes to healthcare. I think that is wise. Our politicians are being paid very well to vote against any universal healthcare system.

Thats why they can have better quality healthcare at much less a cost per capita. When they go to their doctors, there is not an insurance agent waiting at the hospital door and demanding 25% of your healthcare dollar before they even let you in. Government management of healthcare costs much less than private insurance companies scrape off of the top.
