    Yes. When the coefficient of a variable is a fraction, it is to be calculated as division problem. Example:

    (a) = (1a) = (1/1)(a) = (a/1) = (a)

    Second example:

    (1/4b) = (1/4)(b) = (b/4)

    Coefficient is simply multiplier of variable quantity and so quantity may be multiplied by fraction.
