The interesting thing is that there is some recent scholarship that indicates possibly as many as three books from the Catholic Old Testament may have actually been written by women. Then later attributed to important male authors.

In part because elements of the stories contain details about women's lives that would generally not have been known by male authors. And others that men may have heard of, but which were not described as men would have been expected to.

Those books are Ruth, Esther and Judith.

I didn't say they were. And yes, Ruth and Esther are canon in all Bibles - Judith is not.

I honestly don't know who wrote Ruth or Esther.

    To answer the question:

It was not common practice in the Hebrew society to teach women how to read and write.

There are by the way several women who play major roles in the Bible, so God worked through women also.

Actually, the book of Ruth could well have been written by a woman.

The books of Ruth and Esther were written by Lady Prophets. Weren't they?

      Traditionally, no.
Ruth has been traditionally attributed to Samuel, and Esther to Mordecai.

Because men were to take care of women and write laws and fight wars and even take care of the children. So women had a lot of work to do caring for babies every year.

The guy who wrote this old novel, was a mysogynist! Yet after having created the character called: god (at least the christian one), he created Eve anyway...

There are no gods to do that.

Because back then, women were the property of men and could not participate in important religious matters.

The time it was written the whole world was a patriarchy. It remained that way until after 1900.
