Alternative/unique ideas for travel lodging?

What are other forms of lodging, besides traditional ones (e.g. hotels, hostels, houses) that can also be affordable? Besides RV and camping

There's always AirBnB. Or maybe you could find some kind of timeshare sublet situation.

'Hotels, houses, and hostels' covers all the ways to sleep inside a building. Camping covers most forms of temporary accommodation not inside a building, including sleeping inside a vehicle whether it's in a car or an RV, or sleeping inside a tent or on the ground somewhere without a tent. If you want to say that an air bnb is not a house or that sleeping on the roof of a building is not camping, you're splitting hairs.I can't think of anything there is besides those things.

Anything intended as a place to stay, for a short or long time can be called accommodation. If you sleep in a tree or in a chair at the airport, you can call it accommodation if you like but most people wouldn't.

Humans have been sleeping at night as long as there have been humans.  ALL forms of lodging are traditional and there is nothing new.
